View Full Version : Weird audio issues...

Well, a couple of days ago i had installed PJ 64 and everything seemed fine.

However, a few days later. I have been experiencing weird audio issues, the audio pauses and continues, pauses and continues... the audio is also like 3 seconds late. E.g Super Smash Bros. Ness shoots fire at Samus, audio of burning arrives 2-3 seconds later, and when it arrives the audio is slow, kind of like the audio you hear when you set a game speed on like x1/2.

It is not a rom related problem, all the game roms i have are having this problem.

It would be nice if i could have some assistance in solving this problem, thanks in advance.

I frequently had this issue back with XP.

Try using the 1.6 RSP plug-in.

hence why i want to know the video plugin... rice video has issues with frame limiting that causes this, which is only fixed by using audio synching.

I'm not sure.
I think I was testing Jabo's 1.7 at the time. I rarely used RiceVideo with VC64.

I'm actually probably thinking of a separate issue from this one's.
I was meaning like sound is more full speed but everything in the emulation thread seems to just halt for nearly a second, resume, rinse and repeat one second later.

And then after a while it goes away where everything seems back to normal, but it can happen like less than an hour after that.

Apparently either my new system or the alpha file changes fixed that.

My Video plugin is:

Jabo's Direct3D8 1.6.

Shouldn't i be more concerned about the Audio plugin though?

Yes, i ticked Audio synching and it improved, however not completely.

The audio is still late and keeps on pausing and continuing every 1 second.

The audio speed is also x3/4 instead of x1/2

use Zilmars audio plugin and adjust the buffer length

Okay i have zilmars audio plugin and set the buffer size to the max.

The slow speed of audio has stopped, it's now set at x1 game audio speed.

However, the 1-2 second audio pausing interval still continues to remain.

"Project 64 v1.7 - Issues"
You post in this forum.

If you have this issue with 1.6 or older then that is new, so please specify.
If this issue is for 1.7 version, try using the 1.6 RSP plug-in RSP.dll from 1.6's installed plug-ins.
