So I went to the site and downloaded version 1.6- so now I have an icon in my folder where I keep N64 roms and such (it's quite empty at the moment...) and the icon says "setup Project64 1.6" Next to it, and under that "Setup launcher" and under THAT "Project64". So I double-click to open it and it takes me to InstallShield Wizard, where I can Modify, Repair or Remove the program- when I click modify, I can install it on the local harddrive, install it and all subfeatures onto the local harddrive, install it when required, or make it not available. I am not very good with emulators- I'm quite new to them, actually, and this is my first N64 emulator. So I ASSUME I want the second option (all features and subfeatures onto the local harddrive), but I want to ask someone who KNOWS first so I don't screw it up ^^'

And to save myself grief later and have to post ANOTHER topic, I plan on using my keyboard to play the game. I'd like to know if this is possible, because it's the easiest and most convienient way for me to play. IF NOT, what do I have to use? I've looked at a few topics and have seen that some people use Xbox360 controllers- will any Xbox360 controller work, or do I need some fancy one?

Thank you to anyone who helps me!~

If you get those options to repair / modify / remove the installation I have seen this in cases where it may have already been installed somewhere else. In the past I had chosen modify and then success.

Good question. I have used my keyboard to play games for 5 out of 5 years, with no care over buying some adapter when the game's already emulated.
Things work pretty well.

I have a GameStop 360 wired controller. I went to google and typed in: "how to use your xbox 360 controller with project 64". The very first link which popped up is a YouTube video showing you how to do the whole thing and where to find the drivers.

Good luck.
