hey all,

i just jumped on the project 64 band wagon and need a lil help getting things running.

i succsefully installed project64 1.6, and i have been able to load WWF no mercy, but thats it.

i have about 350 n64 roms i have collected over the years, they are all .z64 format zipped up into rar files

i tried downloading and using goodn64 as well as goodgui, but they are not user friendly at all.

just finding the goodutilities is hard enough, but then when you do there just isnt any instruction.

i downloaded some good tools tutorial from emutalk but that really didnt help either, i was able to set everything up but i just cant get my roms to show up in project 64.

soooooooo......
(TL;DR)
i need to get my roms to show up in project 64, currently only 3 out of 350 will show up, so any help would be greatly appreaciated.

You don't need GoodN64. Basically all it does is check a database anyway; it's no more capable than what I can already do as it is.

Describe how you have tried to set up your games browser list in Project64?
Give file name and file size excerpts of the three files that do show in the list and also some examples of the others that don't?
Don't archive in RAR; instead if there is some sort of compression scheme, try temporarily disabling it for current testing.

sorry about the triple post and all,

but there is a 4 picture per post limit.

also after reviewing the pictures i noticed the ones that work are all .zip files and the ones that dont are all .7z files, so im thinking maybe it dosent support .7z

and oh yea i came up with that all by myself, please hold your applause :D

so im thinking i might need to just un-rar em all and then project 64 will load the un-rared .z64 files right?

well i'll find out once im done unzipping these things....

*****problem solved*****

it was just the .7z rars once i unpacked em they were fine, sorry to waste your time, and thank you for your responce, which actually helped me figure it out

ZIP is also supported, but 7Z is worth replacing with. It was one of the items for what to think in future for Project64.
I personally don't use any compression archiving, just so the games start faster.

Besides, internal compression schemes based on the file format--as a rule of thumb--are generally stronger than common archive compression. If I really needed to slow things down I could just get RTool and compress all the images, but I would have to decompress when ready to play.
