I'm willing to buy the beta version of Project64, but first I would like to know if it has compatibility issues with Windows Vista. I heard various issues of the emulator crashing on windows vista and would like to know if it's a problem with the beta version or it's something caused by a particular configuration. Thanks!

I`m running Vista with SP1. I find there are a few games that run okay under 1.6 that generate exception errors with the latest 1.7 beta. I haven`t noticed anything yet that doesn`t run under 1.6 yet does with 1.7

If 1.6 does not work, do not expect it to work in 1.7.

there is no issues with vista per say, seems more driver issues

Driver-related perhaps but except for the crashes outside directly the emulation thread coming from NTDLL.DLL. The extended crash likelihood in Jet Force Gemini also return that fault module name after crashes in the core.

It seems to me no other games with that type of compatibility issue have been found. I'm happy to test using Windows Vista and have no real loss. You may want to save state every five minutes at least in the current beta version in case of SP crashes.

ntdll issues are usually nx bit issues...

The generic Vista compatibility issues seem thus far to be dependent to the system; there are many variants. It is also likely if you play the average game with the default plugins you may not run into any.

If you have external plugins installed and the like that will change. Trying games like Jet Force Gemini for sure you will begin to notice problems.

i wonder..... that cheat i created for LoZ crashes on interpreter.c.. might be a core issue?
