The installer doesn't install the program. I think this is because I used to have the program on the computer and I deleted it, and the installer thinks the program is on the computer still and tries to upgrade.

Here are the specifics of the error:

When I run the installer the first message I get is This setup will perform an upgrade of ". Do you want to continue?

I click Yes, then the InstallSheild Wizard starts and I click Next through the screens to install.

When it's supposedly finished, I select the option to launch the program on exit and I get this error message: Internal Error 2753: project64.exe

The installer does not even install anything. I've looked in C:/Program Files.

I've already deleted everything in the registry via searching for anything matching "project64", but I'm thinking the key to fixing this is deleting other registry entries that I am unaware of, and I'm hoping someone could shed light on this.

Thank you for reading this.

remove the uninstaller info with Windows installer cleanup utility.

Thank you for your reply.

I downloaded the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and Project64 wasn't in the list.

:O

Manually editing registry files is extremely dangerous, as you could very easily f$#! up your entire OS installation with one wrong deleted entry. I strongly suggest getting a registry cleaner program. A quick google search will give you several that are good.

I have 3 registry cleaners and I have used them.

Thank you for your advice.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Since installers have been bound with some issues or the one specifically used here, on occasion I've found it work best to just send people the official archive.

not sure about any mess already created though in your present situation
