So every plugin I try to use with PJ64 fails. It always tells me a .dll is missing, so I go check my plugin folder, and OH LOOK THERES THE FILE YOU ASKED FOR

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium. I'd give more info but I don't know what else I can tell you that would be relevant. Ask and ye shall recieve.

EDIT: It's just the plugins that don't ship with PJ64 that cause this. Those work fine.

Dependency DLL's go in the application directory, not the plugin directory.

Yeah I'm having the same problem. Where's the application directory? My friend was able to download it fine on windows 7, I have windows xp and it's not working. We downloaded the same file same day it's just not working for me. I even changed the directory to the plugin folder and still nothing

What plugin are you having trouble with? Let me know and I'll give it a shot.

The application folder is the root PJ64 folder. At least that's what I think he means by "application folder". Some plugins like the many versions of Glide have about 2 files that need to go in the main PJ64 folder (That is the folder where you find Project64.exe in). Those files are usually Glide2X.dll and Glide2X.ini . The other dll's go in the plugin folder.

I have the plugins that came with the download of Project64 1.6. Jabo's plugin or whatever it's called. My friend downloaded the same file on his computer from the same site and started playing immediately. When I tried the same thing it says the plugins are missing or weren't initialized correctly

Try re-installing the emulator. Or go to Add/Remove programs and click the Uninstall for Project64.Then do the Repair option. First try the repair, if that don't work, uninstall and then re-run the installer app. If that dont work, try getting the download from another source. Where did you download it from?

The plugins you are referring to stay in the plugins folder. No other files are necessary. I have similar issues with a couple other versions of PJ64 that once USED to work, but now give me plugin loading errors. No idea why.

What version of Windows are you running? I hear there are compatibility issues among other things to plugins in Vista. The problem is that there is an access issue to where Windows wont allow the .dlls to access the memory etc. I'm not real sure. All I know is I never have good luck running programs on crappy ass Vista.

The graphics plugin not initializing correctly may indicate a graphics card incompatibility.
