Thought i'd check out the progress on 1.7 since I signed up for beta few years back, all looks good but I cannot figure out how to get the high-res packs I downloaded from the beta section to work. I've found the empty \textures-load\ directory but I don't know what to place in it.

I've read people mentioning "texture pack picker" and an install texture pack option but I cannot find them anywhere :confused::confused:

Thanks,
Dawson

Figured it out, it's easy when you know how isn't it :o :D

Working great, but I've noticed that some of the texture packs are progressing using Rice's method. Is this compatible with 1.7? I've tried loading them to same way as I do with 1.6 but the plugins (glide64, ricevideo) ignore them and load the game normally.

Glide64 and Rice's Video Plugin both support Rice's texture format.
If you can configure them to work on the public 1.6 version of Project64, it should also work on the 1.7 version.

So i've read, but I can get neither to work in 1.7.. They load fine in 1.6 after configuring the plugins to using hires textures, and putting them in the following path

Project64 1.6\Plugin\hires_texture\(rom name)

But when I do the same thing under the 1.7 folder, it doesn't load them. Does 1.7 use a different method? Should I be placing them under a different path now?

Thanks for your help.

Bingo :)

The hi-res parent folder has to be under plugins\GFX in 1.7

Yeah that's true, since some plug-ins are installed to that subfolder.

You can also configure directories in the Options/Settings... command, Directories tab.
