Hello. I just wanted to join to show my support for the Project 64 team. It's my favorite N64 emulator (and by-far the best, imho). Hopefully within the next couple weeks I will donate so I can get the latest release of this emulator.

I can't wait until Christmas; I'll be replacing my 128MB shared intel graphics card with a 512MB Radeon 3850 [AGP] (either from VisionTek, Sapphire, or PowerColor, haven't decided yet). Here are my specs for my 5-year old Dell Dimension 4600:

- 2.8GHz Pentium 4 Processor
- 1 GB RAM (4x256)
- 120 GB HDD
- 128MB Intel graphics card shared with NO support for pixel shader 2.0 :(

With the latest release of Project 64 combined with my new graphics card, I'll be playing Legend of Zelda OoT with a texture pack at 1024x768 @ full framerate :D (granted if the new build of Project 64 supports texture packs, I haven't checked yet).

For those of you who are musically-inclined, I have played some video-game arrangements and posted them online. www.youtube.com/UNOxDExELLOS
More to come soon.

So, how are you?

thanks - and yes it does support texture packs although many need completing so we're looking for people who could work on these!
you should notice a big improvement.. if possible get a widescreen monitor as 1.7 has much improved widescreen support too :)

Actually, Project64 doesn't make that much use of the Video Card. It is good for playing at higher resolutions and with AA, but your processor will hold you back on games such as GoldenEye. I would recommend 1 more gig of ram and either a Pentium D or a Core2Duo processor.

Oh, and as for the Video Card, I would recommend HIS Radeon IceQ3 Turbo 512mb, which is the best AGP card.

Anyways, welcome.

PJ64 doesnt need a very fast card, but it needs a lot of features. well, features that any nVidea or ATI card from the last 3 years will provide.
i wouldn't spend too much money upgrading your system.. i'd probably buy a 2nd hand graphics card for about 25 (UK) that would do the job (even something as old as a Radeon9600 would do the job and probably you'd get that almost free from someone throwing it out).. then i'd save for a totally new system. because the person above is correct that you will be more memory/cpu bound than anything else. just my suggestion of course!

Or maybe neither, and I'm just excited at the prospect of kicking back and relaxing from this forum for a while, enjoying the mass of thread resuscitation you conduct in the funniest ways XD
