specify WHICH wireless control.
100% crap.

I am not aware of any cord which turns a wireless 360 into a wired controller. While it is probable that you got a plug and play kit to charge your controller on your computer, the controller does not send any button pressing feedback over the cord itself. The cord simply gives it enough power so that it can continue it's "wireless" operation.

To sum up, in order to use a wireless xbox 360 controller you will need to purchase the wireless xbox 360 controller adapter for pc gaming.

Is the 'special connection cord' the Play & Charge cable?

If so, your wireless controller will not work as a wired controller. The cable simply allows the user to charge the rechargeable battery pack. The controller is still controlled wirelessly.

You can use the wireless controller, however, you'll need to purchase the adapter.
