The game plays just fine with the exception of in the Valley level when you bring down then Graveler near the beginning of the level where the Sandslash pops up, as soon as the graveler stands back up the whole game grinds to a complete stop.
I've done this two or three times so Im pretty sure there is a definite problem
Is there a solution or is it something on my end?

We need system specs, what plug-ins you are using, Vista, XP or 7, etc....

Actually it sounds more like a hang in virtual machine.

Fastest way for me to test to find a fix is if I can get a save state with this user's progress. I don't have the throwing apples and pester balls unlocked until a few days of play, but a save state should prove things.

So can you send me a save state from this game with your progress so I can test to find a solution?
F5 makes a PJ.ZIP-extension save state in $Project64\Save, upload this to the forum attachments or some site like filesend.net.

Alright in the Valley level after your save state I loaded I shot down the Geodudes around Graveler, then Sandlash popped up. Did that a couple more times, but I couldn't get it to crash or hang.

Thinking it may be configuration settings.
Try replacing the file "Project64.rdb" in the local installation for the emulator, with the updated RDB file from here.
