It's piracy, and one can report it using rapidshare's piracy report feature.

Every upload site should have that, and they should remove the upload. [Except filesend.net--Mr. admin there backstabbed out of peaceful neutrality, so screw him and his network.]

Yeah it's difficult since Project64 isn't copyrighted I guess...which is the big problem.

Not in public though if you can private message the link to me, and I'll look at it.

These things are bound to happen. No protection is infallible. Not even dongle based systems, or systems that use VMs like Themida....

i have sent to you the link iconoclast

Yes if they were protected nothing would happen

Yes if they were protected nothing would happen

Wrong.

If there is a protection, it WILL be broken. This thing will STILL be leaked if zilmar even used his company's license of Armadillo to protect Project64. It still will be cracked.

There is security holes in every protection. And I think so far I already told zilmar some of them in PJ64. :)

And no, I am not the cracker responsible for the leaked betas, so don't ask. I really don't want to be associated with the absolute tripe that those idiots release.

yeh i am not a cracker too but i think it is unfair to download the beta version withought donate i have donated and i think is very very unfair

Of course, zilmar and Jabo deserve the support, as well as others.

But its a fact of life that people always want everything for nothing.....

It's just another Lerroy Jenkins crack of 1.7.0.45; I didn't even need to check to see it was going to be another one of those outhouse-cracked copies. This time the RAM usage is flying heh...but there is one crack I found by digitalspider that seems to have been done accurately according to mudlord. It even fixed the settings dialoge loading times. :P

DS? I know that person. That person made No$PMP or No$WTT so, they might have some skill after all....:p Still, tagging old rlses as new ones is super lame :P

Still, I haven't found a issue with loading times. Or maybe I am used to it. :p

"Still, tagging old rlses as new ones is super lame :P"

Um yes that is, and that would explain why the settings dialoge loading times are like instant compared to the latest betas.

There are cracked 1.7 betas all over the internet, mostly on torrent sites. the problem is that even if all of these are removed someone who downloaded a cracked version will probably just upload it somewhere again.

Aye like mudlord said it's unpreventable; there are organizations that crack software all over the web. It can be hard to make a list of shareware that wasn't cracked, but Project64 was actually very clean until 2007. Loads of people wanted the beta, but I guess part of the reason it didn't get cracked immediately is because it wasn't copyrighted official or something (bigger fish to fry probably hate for copyrights). Also worth noting why Lerroy Jenkins--first guy to leak it--was deleted for a fail. Eventually various people started cracking it, and they sorta failed as well.

That only occurs the first time for i open the settings dialogue on each start of pj64, and i put it down to scanning the hi-res pack folder.

and they fail to grasp that some people can get the beta free, if they contribute to the n64 scene (texture packers, and plugins dev's)

Yes, as Squall_Leonhart said, that contributors can get the beta without donation, although personally I say donate even if you don't have to. But for those who are not knowledgeable enough to give something worthwhile, then the beta is not your scene anyway and stick with the 1.6 version, thank you.
