You spelled "zilmar" wrong.

Therefore, since you used "and" instead of "or", according to you, none of them will be processed until he changes his username to Zilmar. Also, none of them live in America, so, yeah, even if you are Iwata ( which you clearly are judging by the disposition and some background information). By the way, you forgot a period.

Hey Zilmar and Jabo good work here guys keep it up
As for the Bill Gates impostor and the dimwit saying Nintendo of America will "Process" them which I assume means legally

That's highly untrue considering they've got nothing to do with Commercial Roms, As for the Bill Gates impostor if this were controlled by Windows we'd have to pay $100 and then have some really crappy piece of software.

One last thing see if you guys can figure out how to add in DX8/9 and High end Video Card/Sound Card support for that IMPROVED N64 Emulator experience :)

The Project64 team is a shame. This emulator never emulate properly a games such Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64 and Pokémon Stadium 2. The Wii's Virtual Consele is a perfect emulator, and have real quality. Jabo and Zilmar is awais busy and not have some time for continue the development, but all of you were in the jail, the time is no more a problem. Mr. Iwata and i expect for this, infrators. ;D

I really like everything you have done, I am wondering if it would be possible for you to release a homebrew version of this emulator for playing n64 roms on the psp play station portible because all the emulators out for psp suck and they all suck on the pc 2 so i think u could make a great one if you would i would really appreciate it! I mean the latest update of the Daedalus R14 which is the best psp n6 emulator on homebrew out can hardly play games at all with out going black in lots of spots and the sound is crap!

DirectX9 support is needed in Project64 because the DirectX9 graphics cards are very cheap. You can buy an old DirectX9 AGP card with less than $40

i just tried 1.7 ... it's no better than 1.6 so i'm disappointed. i thought the flickering would stop in star wars, nope. i thought there would be sound in RE2 ... nope. all i see are worse bugs and more problems and ZERO improvements. it's really rather sad ... there is a new logo etc ... who cares!!!

I'm hoping someone can help me,

I tried downloading pj64k from a couple of different websites and every time when I open a rom and it's fully loaded, all of a sudden the program crashes. I run Windows Vista; is there some setting I need to fix to get this working? Thanks.

It's the graphics plugin. You likely have one of the newer NVIDIA cards that had a conflict with the Z Buffer implementation in this version of Jabo's plugin. Since you are forced to use that graphics plugin for online play with Project64k, you are trapped. If you want to try a less famous and recent NetPlay emulator, go for Mupen64k. It is said to work well in criticization to Project64k's synchronization and hacks but is unpopular, so you will probably not find many people using it in public.

And Zawacki, you want sound, use the (E) version of the game. According to Wesker, sound exists on the U.S. version on the N64, just not in any emulator for some reason. The Star Wars flickering, by the way, is resolved; it's just that Smiff hasn't updated it in the RDB yet? If you want, I'll tell you. Also, the new logo was just done ahead of time for if and when a public release gets out, as it is just a private beta.

sorry, i was venting a bit ... i guess it's Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs ... i've had 95% of N64 for so long that i've craving that last 5% more than anything.

rswedlow
24th December 2007, 04:13 PM
Well, venting is usually good. :) .. as long as one does not let it drain his or her own stability. Anyway, I suppose you may likely be using a leaked version of the beta, which might play a factor, usually not. This last five percent you claim to seek is probably not something that will be emulated [anytime soon], although some new things such as LLE were put in to support some of the once completely unemulated games. So to sum it up, 1.7 beta has a few many improvements, but, just out of priority, a lot of people's wishes were not granted.

I play chess as a cure and a medicine. I crave power not as much as the skills to use it in advantage. The only minimal things needed to play chess are your own existence and some form of moral interpretation.

i don't understand, when people know of little tricks to get the correct game to work ... why doesn't the emulator just tell you? ... why doesn't the RDB tell you to use the EURO version for RE2?

why do you have to set certain switches for some things instead of selecting a game and not having them set by default? ... they emulator should ask you if it can set it for you ... like when you install a game on your PC and it asks you if it can optimize the game for your video card and hardware etc.

also, when a game is found to work better in an older version of the emulator, why can't the emulator contain older versions inside it for those games? ... it wouldn't take a terrible amount of extra programming to accomplish this ... the overall program itself would be larger but at least it would be convenient.

i recently researched LLE programming and found it interesting ... i don't understand HLE programming because i thought all emulation was like LLE.

P.S. ... how cool would the wii-mote work with PJ64 on goldeneye?

also, why are people here chatting on christmas? ... looking for presents here?

Hi there,

I'm relitavely new to the emulator scene, but PJ64 1.6 would have to be the best one I've seen. Built in cheats, custom plugins, huge game support.

I would have liked to have donated to this fine project, so is there any way of doing so? Paypal, Visa or MasterCard? I would like to see how you guys have improved what is a kick ass emulator.

Signing off,

This project isn't dead by a long shot if you were a member you would have known that. Also the leaps and bounds this 1.7 project has come compared to all previously released and indeed beta processes are nothing short then mind blowing. Zilmar is very very busy at the moment as is jabo and us all with real life tasks and professions.

Just read zilmars original post to understand the situation please and enough of the silly project stops cause donations page is down comments. It seriously just isn't the case.

Anyway the main reason im here right now is to wish you all a very happy new year.

Maybe on one side.

On another side, it is a politically incorrect series of pages through which I act like I am "teaching" emulation (rather just when to use what performs it) that shows how good I am at making mistakes. Why have I been slacking off? Because, psychologically, I view tasks as much harder than they really are until I'm already doing them, and ever since I have finished testing all the games I own and was interested playing around with when I first started game emulation, maybe I've grown a depression I'm not conscious of. I'm still just as happy to test for others I think.

Still, I feel pathetic for the initial title and not researching something...more constructive, that may in the end prove me as a failure inasmuch by my own will...to that idea I invision in excuse a blame on unavailable resource from which I can translate? I don't know how much time there is for them, but now is the right time for me to finish what I started.

Has anyone been able to get Project64 1.7 to run with Mamewah 1.6 frontend? No matter what I set the ini files in Mamewah (including flags), I get an error from Project64 when loading a rom through Mamewah:

"Cannot open a rom because plugins have not successfully initialised"

All other emulators work through Mamewah except this. Any ideas?

Might as well be dead, hasn't been a public release in ages, and the beta releases are pay-for only...an emulator is supposed to be a free program, if we are going to pay for an emulator, we could just go on eBay and pick up the console and games for cheap and have them run perfect...plus i am pretty sure its illegal to charge for an emulator now that Nintendo started selling ROM images.

...

That not illegal on emulator. Legal. Read again on Emulator websites and learn more. Because old consoles died, can't get back play games anymore. Emulators are best to backup for games and in the future to bring back from classic consoles. My old two NES consoles are died, because of dust & mold with mist inside build up. How to protect your consoles? Use towel to cover consoles when not use in. I did daily put towel on my Wii console. I put my old consoles in plastic box with seal top to protect against dust. You know. :)

[...] Nintendo started selling ROM images.

Woah...now when the hell did this start?

As for the rest, an emulator steals pretty much nothing from Nintendo these days. Therefore, it'd be just as fair if Project64 was $200, except how Nintendo would react differently to that factor I'm not sure.

And yes, it is dead. :P You can go home now; the project wasn't started for little kiddie pirates. Maybe they'll be happier to work on other things for longer knowing the people who are waiting for them as impatient.

If PJ64 1.7 is ever to come out, i think it would be marketing genius to had adaptoids coming out at the same time! ... a bundle?

also, lets get Wiimote working with PJ64 1.7 ... depending on how you hold the wiimote, it's pretty close to holding a N64 controler (for anyone who has played mario galaxy and super mario 64, the similarities are amazing in terms of control).

[...] when the last official update was posted on August 2007, and were in 2008... then something obviously has stoped!

Good job.

Anyway, what would that accomplish? Yeah, you get a more updated set of Project64 releases taken over by someone who probably rewrote a lot without thinking, maybe end up just giving the source away to ARRRRRR!, but you sure you don't have some sort of alternate occupation here? Or is everyone here like that Tithis guy who lives on the Internet (yaay food), sleeping in a hammock over hundreds of terabyte servers you never use? And one of them has Project64 on it.

If you really want someone who knows what she's doing to write an emulator, it doesn't have to be by starting off with a large and unfamiliar set of source code of someone else's project. Chances are, the right one you're looking for probably can make use enough of the Project64 1.4 source code, moreover start his own project. At least that's what seems to make sense to me.

But I can see you are just dying to see some sort of attempt. Now to get a bit more personal, I don't think these emulators should be public. That, of course, includes me never having getting involved with using them. I think it is probably more interesting to write them as a challenge and share them only with other developers. It seems classic enough that, if we like the games for the N64, we own one and just buy the games for it. Lack of cartridges after expiration, meh, if they deserve it they can learn how to write their own. But I mean, project like this, shouldn't have this much fame?

It seems you have never really developed anything related to these things. If the group of people who developed this program followed the standards used in the industry, anybody with the proper knowledge can pursuit this project. Didn't your mind come across a certain company named "Microsoft" that has more than hundreds of employees working all on something named "Windows, Office, etc."?
You want to know what that will accomplish? Well, we've seen Project 1.4K released with ONLINE support, huh? We've seen Project 1.4 on XBOX (linux-xbox), huh...
Well, maybe those people or others like them could grab these source codes from 1.7 and continue progressing it! Huh?
BTW: I own an Web site development company, I have my staff that follows the standards of the industry ( xhtml, adobe dream studio, Microsoft visual studio, etc..) You beat that when I fire one of them, there will be people to replace them since we've/they've learned the standard of programation language, soo event the messiest codes around one web-site can be decoded since all programs need to run behind an engine which was standardized.
Now, next time..... Don’t be so arrogant in replying; don't get soo personal in replying and for the love of god. Learn from your mistakes so you don't clash with some else next time.

Well, I'm sure you already knew that this project has no relations to "the industry" and that if zilmar is busy with reasonable "diversions" such as contract work and job transitions, he doesn't have time to listen to your abusive acting.

If I may give this info out from some recent info I read on the beta forums here, an Xbox group was privately trusted with the current Project64 sourcecode, and they never even responded with anything. So your idea failed that time. If you ever were in charge of your own non-freeware software project, if it is of some decent level of popularity, you probably don't know how many warez sites have it cracked and up for download. If that is the information you were posting here for, you have what you wanted, you could've just asked.

Project64 1.4 is open-source; the rest of the versions did not have their sourcecodes publicly released. I don't know for sure if you've ever thought of why every single software instance online is not open-source? How many workers do you have, approximately?

That I know is of relative impossibility.

What you see as "text" in an N64 game is really bitmap data; you would have to edit the images to change the characters themselves but also edit the game image text signalling when to use this image that corresponds with that letter, numeral, or other character.

Since I overestimated quite a few individuals here, it looks like I am not quite prepared to terminate myself just yet.

Besides, it shows you don't own the original game, and to support your idea is to publicly support piracy.

Dear Diconoclast,
I'm 19 years old and I own a small PME company in Canada (which I live in BTW), it isn't something that’s big enough to actually be bragging about it, if you want me to be more specific. I'm studying at College (god knows if you going to also ask me in what I’m studying to try to attack my credentials).
Now that you wanted to know my current standings. I would like to point out that based on what you've replied so far, you continue to push the barrier in these forums.
What’s up with replies like this? “I don't know for sure if you've ever thought of why every single software instance online is not open-source?”
I do know these things you bird-brained human, the real question based on your whole opinion-ized reply is “WHY DON’T THEY JUST Open-Source 1.6 or 1.7”. You’re not them [in case you don’t know… the developers]. I don’t want your PERSONAL OPINION; I’ve already told you that before.
I and I’m pretty sure “WE” don’t want to see your cocky comments like; “Since I overestimated quite a few individuals here, it looks like I am not quite prepared to terminate myself just yet. said to recommendation”
What’s up with those replies, do you type as you think without filtering? Have you lost the compassion for people who do actually :Have: a life and only do this as an side-occupation of interest? Not everybody knows what “Droide Dicon…” knows…
Now, why don’t you *Terminate [as you stated] your Big-Ego and reply to people properly. I beat they know stuff you don’t know related to relevant subjects, but they wouldn’t be calling you “Dico…” just for not knowing it, huh?
Once again, stop getting personal in this forum… [If you actually can].
Although, why would someone like you “Sir Dicono….” Not agree with the whole [emulation concept], but actually be on a daily-bases, visiting these emulation web sites? Are you like those hypocrites who say it’s wrong/bad/whatever but are using It?
FYI: Quote “Besides, it shows you don't own the original game, and to support your idea is to publicly support piracy.” *We also don’t need these kinds of replies, just like we don’t need to see the words “Diic-ono"; which is my personal opinion if you might ask. Don’t you hate it when people get personal? Then don’t get personal with them.

rswedlow
21st January 2008, 04:17 PM
So the reason they didn't open-source 1.6 or 1.7 is because they only open-sourced 1.4 and that they don't want their current sourcecode to be taken and misused (e.g. cracking the security on the leak if they supply that much of it). That's all I wanted to make sure you got. The whole thing where the Xbox group just took the code out of interest and never did anything with it, it's for security. Hell buddy, I don't even care about my personal opinion, who knows anything in this world?

Also, nobody cares about your personal details :P.

Pj, you need a Original xbox software modded or hardware (i chose software, much easier! lolll) and well.... the emulator!

You can play practically any game that the pc versions can play!
Awsome to be able to play n64 on an xbox controller, softer on my hands :D

Hope that could help you out :)

Well... all I have left are the files, i know that if you go in the forums of "xboxscene.com" it could be a good start.
As for the virus and all... don't worry man, an free anti-virus like avg is more then enough!
You will need to have a copy of mechassault of james bond to perform a software mod, just follow the instruction in those forums.
I aint responsible for what ever Could happen to your xbox, btw :P

Nobody even took any notice whatsoever that I made this post ummm I get the feeling the owner of this site must be very busy with something I wonder if it's an update, I hope so...

This is fucking insulting. These people've been milking gamers out of their hard-earned money, and we haven't seen an update in months.

damn that is true, i feel bad for the people who donated

The developers, unlike most of the losers who bother spamming this place with their utterly useless crap, apparently have a life, and thus have no obligation whatsoever to continually provide anyone with their ongoing product until they deem it necessary, under fitting circumstances.

Donations are meant to show one's support towards the effort they have put into the project, not as a form of claiming an endless supply of Project64 versions.

Whether or not the project is doomed is debatable, though I wouldn't be surprised if this was indeed the case, considering the sort of people that hangs around here.

I still don't get the message here. Trying to teach us what it's like to get raped in prison while typing at the same time? That angers me....

Have fun growing up, kiddies. Watch out for toddlers on the way.

Now why did I post this....

user name - po..

Not nice user. You will delete by admin/mod. Please post good things. Not want bad post. I must report to admin/mod to know about that. Like dump post, junk post, etc. Not good :(

I want to see real new project 64 1.7 by admin when release later. I not need hurry to get it. Respect Project 64 Teams and people too. Let them keep work on it. Cool down and make us feel better.

Keep Dreaming; have fun downloading the Beta's...
Pj64 is heading towards the same fate as the Nemu64, which suddenly stop reporting Updates and eventually they officially stated it had ended, about a year and some after the last updates!

Keep dreaming people, I followed people's advice, t o r r e n t it before even the 1.7 betas aren’t available.
I do respect them and their hard work, but being patient for more than a year is a lot, and I don't visit this website on a daily bases (sometime even months pasted before I checked it out; BTW. Find the beta's before even They disappear!
;) ;) :D :o

Project64 1.7 development is still continuing, Zilmar and Jabo are both busy with varios things, and while smiff is off, i've taken up the task, along with anyone else who helps, of improving the RDB and adding missing roms in both the 1.7 and 1.6 RDB's

I've also started working on Cheats which will be exclusive to 1.7 for the Master Quest U (GC) rom which has been found recently.

Further more, Games testing is continuing and all bugs, are reported, including any work arounds/fixes found.
