super smash bros. online?

I remember reading somewhere that you can play super smash bros. online. Is this true?
If it is, can you tell me how to do it?

Well Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the only official online game but I'm getting off-topic because you are talking about Super Smash Bros. for N64, right? ;)

Anyways, It would be really cool if VC and Project64 could do online multiplayer, not just Super Smash Bros., but every other multiplayer N64 game!

True but how much you want to know?

A few support the online play.
If everyone is using the same emulator they can play, but sometimes for arranged games with someone you know you might want to know how to use something besides Project64 (version 1.4).
