View Full Version : Paper Mario Cache Translating issue

I hear that it's common for paper mario to be problematic, but this one has me stumped. I'm not using cheats, my pj64 is updated, and I've tried messing with graphics and plugins settings, but the problem still persists. Every time I play, the game stops right as the screen turns white after seeing peach's castle in the sky (without mario) for a second time. Then a window pops up saying "Cache can't be translated: Cache 0", or something to that effect. if you click on "ok", the 0 is replaced with a 1, then 2, then 3, and so on. during that time, I can't close the program and have to go into the task manager and shut of pj64 manually. Does anyone have a solution?

Does this happen the same way with other graphics plug-ins?

When you get continued error patterns like that what if you just hold the Enter key to skim by all of them (equivalent to click "OK")? To get an idea how high up Cache:$ counts to

Lastly are you using the default graphics plug-in for Project64 1.6, Jabo's Direct3D8 1.6?

i found the solution to this little problem :D . you only need to download an other version of the game and i suggest the one on this link :p http://www.doperoms.com/roms/nintendo_64/Paper%20Mario%20%28U%29%20%5B!%5D.zip.html/114729/Paper%20Mario%20%28U%29%20%5B!%5D.zip.html. if you don't want to click on this link, i don't care that's your problem, but if you want to solve the crash you should do what i said, but your are not obligated to use my link your roms site is ok as long as it have other versions of the game, but don't use this one paper mario(E)(M4)[!].z64, that is the one i had before and don't use this one either paper mario(U)[T+Chi].z64 it have the same problem on pj64.I'm using this version paper mario(U)[!].z64 .i hope it'll help:p

Modified releases will of course have issues.
