Sluggish performance, could this require cleaning out registry?

I've used a lot of emulators on my PC and a lot of settings. What I do know is that sluggish performance is not what I should have, but I do. I have a fast rig. Can adding different N64 emulators to my computer and swapping out many different plugins with many different settings somehow mess things up? I'm just not sure about the registry and if this may be a possible solution. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've updated my audio drivers and video card drivers. No reason for this performance.

What game and what video plugin?

It doesn't matter the game or the video plugin. This is a bad situation when a powerful PC has a performance issue like this. It's very difficult to diagnose. I have in the past read about the registry, which is why I'm asking about that. I've also read that running different cores could also be a solution.

Then there's something wrong on your end. You haven't posted enough information  .

I am well versed in my PC, its parts and emulation. The only aspect I haven't looked into is the registry, but it appears I may not be the only one who is unsure on that avenue.

Or you could post your specs on here too...

Looking into the registry is a waste of time. It has nothing to do with your issue.
