No Dead Zone (Xbox 360 wired controller)

I searched google and these forums and couldn't find anything, so forgive me if this is a repost.

I've tried both N-Rage's and Jabo's input plugins, and neither one gave me any sort of dead zone on the left analog stick of my (brand new) xbox 360 wired controller. I've tried reconfiguring the controller through windows but that did nothing. The controller works perfectly on other emulators (e.g. Dolphin)

It's so bad that I can barely get the stick configure, and then when I get in game (Super Mario 64) Mario runs around full speed at all times.

What can I do about this?

what axis is the left analog stick according to the plugins? which drivers are you using?

Did you try changing the deadzone through N-rage? There's a slider for that.

Left analog stick is GamePad: Y-Axis +/- and X-Axis +/-
Right stick is labeled as Y/X-Rotation +/-

I'm using default windows drivers

Tried values ranging from 5% to 75%. Didn't do anything at all.

I have little experience with Xbox360 but from what I've heard xbcd is successful for some people... http://www.redcl0ud.com/xbcd.html

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en...dows/C8G-00004

seems to be the microsoft site... let us know how it turns out with either.

Another question that might help: Which version of N-Rage are you using?

Are you using v2 1.8 or v2 2.2?

EDIT: Also if you're interested in vibration download the Xinput in my siggy.

Thanks. I'll try out the official stuff first, and then see if the XBCD will work with Windows 7. I will definitely post back with whatever works.

I'm using version v2.1.83. Should I update? Any advice on how to do so?

And thanks for the vibration link, I'll look into it once I get my left analog stick functional.

Updating to 2.2 might solve the problem.

Well he's also asking how. Like 1337 said as far as N-Rage goes you can get the latest version or 2.2 beta from http://sourceforge.net/projects/nragev20.

Your testing feedback to use with Jabo's DirectInput would also be appreciated, as the discussions here are more targeted at the development past issues like this if they should not be happening with the default plugins.

XBCD is discontinued at redclouds.
