Project64 Forum NetPlay Tournament!
After voting on the first game through posts/PMs, the community has chosen Super Smash Bros. for our inaugural gaming extravaganza. A very fine choice, indeed.

The bracket is up! You have until January 16 to play your first-round matchup. As the rules state, the first player to win two games (five-stock, no items) advances.

Official Rules -

The tournament will be a double-elimination, best-of-three series. The game settings will need to be 5-stock, no items. Although this is probably assumed, you can't use cheats.
When picking the stage, the higher-seeded player picks first, while the other player picks second. The final stage for the first round must be the Hyrule Castle stage.
The following stages are banned -
Yoshi's Island
Mushroom Kingdom
Sector Z

After the series is over, the winning player is required to report their victory to me in order to advance.
If both competitors claim to be the champion, a screenshot of the post-game stats will be required. If one can't be shown, then you'll be forced to replay with Daddy watching.
Let's be honest here, folks. Just to be safe, go ahead and screenshot each game, but I'll hope it won't come to that.

When the bracket is posted, you and your adversary are responsible for choosing the time to play.

What You'll Need -

Unfortunately, we probably aren't going to be able to use Project64 for this.
Mupen64++ through Kaillera seems to be the best bet, but suggestions/concerns are welcome, of course.
You can download Mupen here.

A save file for Super Smash Bros. can be found here. Just place that file in the "save" folder of mupen.

To optimize gameplay/connection, it would be for everyone's benefit let me know your very general location. Those not comfortable with this will be paired together, while others will be paired according to distance, thus granting them much better gameplay.

As far as prizes are concerned, maybe someone can convince a mod to change you from a "Member" to "Smash Champion", or something along those lines, because I'm not giving you anything.
Also, our first-place winner gets a customized avatar, compliments of Experiment 150! The avatar depends on which character you use in this tournament.

Best of luck to all of you!

I'll update the OP with instructions as soon as I figure out what we're going to be using.

Can we use telepathic brainwaves?

Hero 16th December 2010 11:12 PM

I don't see why not, as long as it's agreed upon by both parties.

Experiment #150 17th December 2010 12:09 AM

I do not agree. HA! wait...... OK well I'll just wait until some other doodz say some junk

Hero 17th December 2010 12:22 AM

Do not be surprised if winds up being only the three of us playing ;).
Telepathic Brainwaves > Kaillera.

Hero, natnateratertot, my self, and a penguin that started appearing in the thread. Don't worry; he's pretty smart with online emulation.

lol I totally have never played StarFox, that dumbass annoys me

I'd like to play virtualchess64 , but it'd probably be better to stick with SSB.

Count me in.

I think GoldenEye and Mario Kart are some true classics that we should play.
