Joystick sensitivity
Ive read a few threads but does anyone have any suggestions on settings to make it so i can get sensitivity of the joystick to work,

IE lean it barely foreword and have Link walk.

I don't quite get your question, sorry :(

But you can change joystick sensitivity in the controller plugin area.

With my joypad whether i tilt it ever so slightly forword, or i tilt it all the way straight up its as if im tilting it all the way, there is no in between, IE walking in a game.

Edit: Problem sorta solved. My ps3 controller with a hack i have works the way i wanted my other controller to. If anyone knows the solution off hand it would be nice to know but if not im fine with my PS3 controller.

You should try configuring the controller plug-in.

From the Options menu probably a better start would be to switch to N-Rage's controller plug-in (choosing "Settings..." from menu) and then configure it, as it has more certain configuration for analog controller sensitivity. First check setting "Real N64 Range".

I know exactly what you mean. What you are saying is that there's almost like a gradient of input possible. if you lightly move it, the character "walks" in all 3d games. its never noticed cause we all "run". Its not much of an issue if you are doing functions normally, but when it comes to walking a narrow plank? Its nearly impossible.

Fixing the dead zone wont fix the issue because it just makes the controller less sensitive. What we need is a plugin that interprets the movement like a scale and not an "on - off" issue.

I don't know what the fix is but if you find out let me know.

dude! i found out how to do it. it works like a charm to but best if the game is played in full screen. you need a control mapping program external from project 64 that supports a control mouse with joystick function and then in project 64 use the n-rage controller plugin and map the mouse movements to the joystick buttons on project 64. that way if you barely tilt the stick it will register it as a slow mouse movement thus it will register it as a slight tilt in the actual emulation.

i know this is a while ago but please tell me what mapping program you used and how exactly you did this. i got jmouse and successfully (slowly) move the cursor with the n64 controller. but it is not changing anything in the nrage plugin.
