Project64 Plugins
Good morning (or good night),
Recently bought a computer with win7. I had some .n64 ROMs, and I thought, I'll emulate them with some program, but to my surprise ... The computer was not supported... Reasons? Without DIRECTX. -------------------------------- - Failed to initialize DirectX - - Error code 8876086A. - - - - D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE - --------------------------------- I thought about re-installing Directx but my card was not supported. Not giving up, I tried the opengl plugins (TR64 OpenGL v0.8.8). It worked ... But slooooooooooooooooooooooooow. I didn't find any other plugins for the emulator, and instead searched this forum waiting for someone to turn on the light. Professional help would be appreciated. Why not buy a new video card? We are in the 21st century. If I had to buy something just because a program depends on... Every day I'd buy something new. I have a lot of programs that depend on some device and money is not grass. For more that a program be wonderful, it's cheaper to delete it than to buy a new device. (As long as the program is no more expensive than the device.) |
Holy shit how bad is your computer?

RAM= 2 GB Translating ... Terrible. But I've seen worse things that can run Project64 perfectly. |
I'd say you need to update your DX runtimes, but I don't remember the link anymore. This is the best I can find:

Directx doesn't work

According to the results: "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" "When a computer has no video card compatible drivers this driver is installed." "For Directx to function properly, the video card manufacturer driver is required." It's all right. I installed the drivers through Windows Update. The computer restarts. And blue screen. (Or death screen) I restarted from safe mode and uninstalled the driver, which just happens to be the ideal driver for my video card, and now I have the computer running. "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" is a driver that makes it impossible to use DirectX, no matter how many times I reinstall it, the driver will always reject it. Is there a plugin that doesn't use DirectX? |

I called a computer technician (I spent money, which I didn't want). The technician just updated my Windows to 10... Nothing more. Directx now works, because the driver is accepted. That was a %@$@$#. I could do it for free if I had a brain and already had the "Windows Media Creation Tool" to update. Result = Financial loss Don't blame yourself, it was my fault. Sorry if I made you look guilty. Thanks for the help. See you. |
Glad you got it to work, it sucks that you had to spends some money, but hopefully you learned something that will help you in the future :)
