That's because the more accurate emulation of 2.x sucks.
You'll need to use PJ64 1.7.0.50b23 for it to not crash.

It even works on Mupen64Pluse AE,so I can't see why it is giving you so much trouble.

Or what emulator if not PJ64?

The code works with LemD3D8 on PJ64 2.2.0.3 version....
