Try using Azimer's Audio HLE for the sound...
Try using Azimer's Audio HLE for the sound plug-in.
It isn't pre-installed with Project64, so if you don't have it, get it from here.

It's possible you didn't get any additional...
It's possible you didn't get any additional errors saying devices like Direct3D or DirectSound failed to initialize through the default plug-ins.
What if you change graphics to Jabo's Direct3D6...
