I know exactly what you mean. What you are saying is that there's almost like a gradient of input possible. if you lightly move it, the character "walks" in all 3d games. its never noticed cause we all "run". Its not much of an issue if you are doing functions normally, but when it comes to walking a narrow plank? Its nearly impossible.

Fixing the dead zone wont fix the issue because it just makes the controller less sensitive. What we need is a plugin that interprets the movement like a scale and not an "on - off" issue.

I don't know what the fix is but if you find out let me know.
