Exclamation mcafee deleting files

this computer has the free McAfee on it, though i never use it because MalwareBytes is better. today when i tried to start up Project64, McAfee deleted what i think are both the input and sound plugins (can't remember the exact names) and now it doesn't work. could someone explain whats going on? also, can i reinstall the plugins?
