Default Another controller issue.

Sorry to post another, but I have read through those posted before and nothing there is helping.

I am trying to use a (3rd-party) X-Box USB controller that I know works with PC games, and which I can confirm works with the Control Panel controller configuration utility. I have configured as the attachment, but none of the keys or sticks do anything. The keyboard controls do work.

I also tried a controller I bought maybe 10 years ago to use with Project64, which worked then before I stopped using P64. Controller is still functioning, but now I've come back for some nostalgia Project64 is not recognising that controller either.

Damn, it keeps doing that, resetting my A, B, X and Y to "None". What I have attached here is what I was trying mostly, but now I find I cannot get it to keep those.

I think before I captured that image I reloaded an old one but that is another problem: when I saved or reloaded a profile the A, B , X and Y reset to "None". Not a serious issue, it only takes seconds to set them, I was more interested in getting anything working.

Your controls don't make any sense.

Does anyone have anything helpful?

Alternatively, if you can solve this one it would be almost as useful: I managed to get this working with a PS4 controller using DS4Windows, but now that is having crazy issues.

First controller I had used is no longer visible to the PC's Bluetooth. Just doesn't show up on the list. No idea why. Tried everything I know (reset controller, removed drivers for it on PC, rebooted etc.) and with it connected via USB it is completely ignored by Project 64 even though it is shown working on the PC control panel USB controllers setup.

Second controller will connect with Bluetooth but DS4 is completely ignoring it. Just doesn't show up on the list, even though it again shows on the control panel and tests correctly. Project64 ignores it entirely.
