Need help with using a pro controller

I've been at this for about an hour now, I cannot for the love of me figure out how to get project 64 to detect my pro controller. I tried using the BetterJoyForCemu, I tried using steam to run project 64 but it seems to close whenever I try to run a rom or get to the controller menu.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Do you need drivers? You tried configuration settings?Do you got another machine to test it on to see if that will make a difference? What version of Proj64 are you using? You getting any error messages?Run a diagnostic utility? (if possible) Call China!! Just joking about the last msg.. I hope this helps some. Good luck bro
