I tried to reload my save game as i always do and it was deleted. Im super upset as i out countless hours into it and really dont want to do it all again any ideas would be so amazing.

I cant even start a new game. It plays the opening movie and then gives me a black screen or says "unable to load save state". what is going on

It could be these reasons but I could be wrong.
1. Project64 could've failed something so it deleted the save. Probably a restart of PJ64 (you probably done it) should do it.
2. Savestates must've corrupted the game.
3. The black screen is probably your cheat codes/setting or your pc randomly not having a brain.
4. Project64 probably received invalid code so it results in a black screen.

And that's all. I'm just not an experienced researcher. But if these helped you, then remember... Your welcome.

Savestates are bad and shouldn't be used over ingame saves.
