Developer Titles Error

When I load a rom, in particular the Mario Party series, and a few more which I hardly care for enough to bother with, I have this issue.

I see N64, Nintendo, Hudson, etc. But when the last developer title finishes from the screen, the game just goes black.

Almost as if it is trying to load, but the FPS, CPU Usage are normal, with CPU mostly idle.

tl;dr rom doesn't make it past the developer titles, I think my rom is corrupt, maybe.

Do you get any sound after the logo images when there is no display?
Did you change configuration settings like as stored in the file "Project64.rdb"?
What's your graphics card?
What graphics plugin have you used?
