Default Fire Temple

I have reached the fire temple in ocarina of time where you have to activate a switch and run up to the big chest with the megaton hammer, however Link keeps falling down because the movement is so inaccurate, what would be some good settings with range and deadzone?

Right now I cannot get past the Fire Temple because of the inaccuracy of the movement of Link.

Isn't there any way of increasing the precision in PJ64 or is it the controller itself that isn't precise enough?

I've played through the Fire Temple and know the exact scene you are describing.
I do remember being scared of missing/falling down and making saved states just in case.

Still, it was easy enough with a keyboard.
I wrote a basic keyboard plugin that's only 50% full speed with Ctrl held down, 25% full speed with Ctrl+Shift (got the idea from Hacktarux's SDL input plugin).

With jabo/nrage i think you adjust some slider option that says "Range" or something like that.

I had to use the keyboard to get the megaton hammer...

theres either something wrong with my settings, my controller or the emulator, its very inaccurate with movement sometimes.

I have found that 52 range provides better accuracy but it also makes link walk sometimes when he is supposed to run, that problem doesnt exists when range is set to 53 but some of the accuracy is lost..

Use nRage controller plugin and set the dead-zone somewhere between 15%-25%. I use PS2 Dualshock controllers...
