Hi there
I'm having an issue that i can't seem to resolve. I'm playing Banjo-Tooie at the moment and that game runs fine, and in my desired resolution of 1280x960. Basically i want to keep the 4:3 Aspect Ratio of the old TV-Screens, this means that i have 2 black bars on each side (I have the same Setting for CS 1.6 which i also run at a lower resolution). While this works fine with Banjo-Tooie, all other games fill up the whole screen, ignoring the resolution that i choosed. ![]() All other games ignore the settings. How can i change this to get the desired resolution of 1280x960? This happens with both Version 2.2 and 2.3 Last edited by kleskDemon; 23rd January 2017 at 01:32 PM. |

Im using the Jabo. But i also tried it with Glide64 and it doesnt work. (Project64 v2.3)
I can choose any resolution, but when i go in fullscreen mode it always fills up the whole screen instead of giving me the black bars... It somehow only works with 1280x960 @ Banjo-Tooie. All other games fill the whole screen.. i dont know why. I also tried to edit the config file and filled my desired resolution in it, but it doesnt work at all (except for Banjo-Tooie^^) Last edited by kleskDemon; 24th January 2017 at 07:31 PM. |

That's very strange, normally after launching the game in Jabo plugin you can choose the aspect ratio to force it to the one you prefer (Alt+Enter to go back to windows mode, open the Jabo plugin then change the aspect ratio options).
An important thing also, no matter what resolution you choose, if your graphic card doesn't have the option to put the correct aspect ratio switched on, you have to choose the resolution according to your computer screen ratio, or else Project64 will change the aspect ratio according to the resolution only. For instance if your computer screen is 16/9, you have to choose a 16/9 resolution for full screen (1280x720 or 1920x1080), then project64 will take care of the aspect ratio correction. You can also change the aspect ratio manually for each game if they support widescreen (Donkey Kong, Jet Force Gemini...). |

Enable advanced settings. Options > Settings, uncheck Hide advanced settings.
Make sure Overide aspect is unchecked in Jabo's ROM settings tab, and both emulated width and height are set to Default. Under the Settings tab, select a 4:3 fullscreen resolution (800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960), and set aspect display to Automatic. Last edited by Frank74; 25th January 2017 at 12:21 PM. |

Ok guys i got it working^^
Under "Rom settings": "Emulated Width and Height" : Default Uncheck "Override Aspect" All as you guys suggested. Under "Settings": I choosed the full screen resolution to be 1680x1050, as thats my monitors resolution. "Aspect Display" : Force 4:3 Thats the setting which changed everything. Now all games have the black bars on the side and are not stretched anymore. Setting the "Aspect display" to force 4:3 did the trick. @Stremon: Your hint was right ![]() @Frank74: Thx for the tips Thanks for your help, just what i needed ![]() (And this works both in 2.2 and 2.3) Last edited by kleskDemon; 25th January 2017 at 04:35 PM. |
