Default Stop milking the beta and release 1.7 final already.

i am frustrated with the current development state of project64 currently the most stable and bug free version has been in beta for over 3 years without a major release it doesn't appear that any further development is taking place i don't mind supporting a project but i will not give money to a stagnant project that has not released a major version on over 3 years there is no excuse and lets face it 1.7 is starting to be mirrored as a major release on rom sites. I think it is high time the Dev team got their act together released 1.7 and started working on 1.8 beta

please look at the release date and rethink your reaction. i would like to point out that this is directly copy pasted from the download page and i have not fudged it

2005 was the last public release and 1.7 is still in closed beta i think you have some nerve to call me entitled. when bringing up the fact that the next version has been held back for so long and kept as restricted donation access only. the purpose of a donation beta system is to give people early access to the new versions not as an excuse to hold back full releases for years. if the dev team wants money than they should make a retail version.

Your argument is completely invalidated by the fact i have access to the beta's and alpha's and know for damn sure they aren't release quality.

see the thing is i have to take your word for that as i cant even evaluate the progress. and even if it is not release quality why haven't there been any public subversion betas. in the long run the project would get more donations if the general users could actually experience some of the progress. hey i use p64 enough and ill tell you what if they release a public beta a few versions behind the current closed beta ill gladly donate and ill even post the receipt here. but personally from my point of view i see duke nukem forever syndrome.

*Witten makes thread saying Open Discussion -= any attacking the devs, other posts/chat allowed*

*zilmar deletes post criticizing a post attacking devs, but not the post itself*

Double agent.
