Default Gamecube Controller with 3rd party adapter not mayflash

I have the correct driver for both the adapter and project64 and I still cant get the controller to even register inputs in the config menu. I have it listed as a 3rd party game cube controller. At a total loss.

I've tried to look for solutions without having this adapter/controller. I've read several reports of problems with detection with Gamecube controller adapters. One I saw with Dolphin emulator, was that you needed to plug your controller and adapter in, before booting your PC.

The rest were with problems with correct drivers for the adapter. Microsoft's default drivers are apparently no good. You need to goto the website of the maker of your adapter to get the correct drivers it seems.
