On forums of this size, people do not get banned very often, mostly because there often is only a few specific people that will ever come on to post, and if you start banning these people, your forums will soon be dead. In addition, on the occasion that you do ban someone, it is often permanent, because his or her action will have had to be pretty extreme to have gotten the ban in the first place.
