Default Generic N64 USB Controllers

Hi All,

I finally bought a couple of generic N64 controllers from a Chinese online vendor to move away from mashing my keyboard. While testing them, I found that they fell into two categories: one registers d-pad inputs respectively as "Gamepad: PoV 1 /\", "Gamepad: PoV 1 <", "Gamepad: PoV 1 >", "Gamepad: PoV 1 \/" and joystick inputs as "Gamepad: Y-axis -", "Gamepad: X-axis -", "Gamepad: X-axis +", "Gamepad: Y-axis +" while the other maps both d-pad and joystick inputs as "Gamepad: Y-axis -", "Gamepad: X-axis -", "Gamepad: X-axis +", "Gamepad: Y-axis +".

When it comes to playing Mario Kart, I am unable to steer with the d-pad as a result (I use the joystick, but just testing for my friends who prefer the d-pad), but the latter controller works fine. Same situation in NFL Blitz, where the d-pad on the former controller is very buggy.

I am using N-Rage for PJ64: 2.5.2.202 as the input plug-in. Any advice to help me get the d-pad working consistently as originally intended in game would be much appreciated!

Darren

Another detail: For the controller that inputs "PoV", navigation in Mario Kart menus with the d-pad is normal, but glitchy and inconsistent in Super Smash Bros. menus.
