Default Yet ANOTHER controller question from ANOTHER n00b

I have a basic PC/Xbox 360 wired controller. I managed to get the P64 system to recognize the controller, but I'm have a problem.

On some games (so far Doom 64 and Duke Nukem 64) the controller is active when I'm not touching anything! It walks the character backwards, or spins him around in circles! My plugins are:

Video - Glide64
Audio - Jabo's DirectSount
Input - N-Rage For PJ64
RSP - RSP Plugin

The mapping is;

plugged is checked,
XInput is checked,
Left Thumbstick=Analog Stick, Right Thumbstick=C Buttons, D-Pad=DPad

Another problem is that no button seems to fire the gun in either game./Ah, found out the "Z" button fires the gun. Putting "Z" in the RT and LT lets me fire the gun.

What am I doing wrong?

Default Me again

OK, guys. I'm tired. Project64 was the emulator I got closest to running and it still gave me heartburn!

The others either didn't run, or didn't have the ability to map an Xbox/PC controller.

I've given up. I've removed all the Nintendo 64 emulators from my hard drive. I'll just play other games.

I'm new but I'll piggyback off this guy's thread.

Super new at using emulation. I bought the Hori Gamecube pad and it works great.

Playing Mario 64, the analog directions feel a little too stiff. Like I can only run in 8 set directions instead of the fluidity of the original if that makes sense? I have everything mapped well and I see something that says Analog and a check box that says "Real N64 Range" which I've bumped to 100% but it doesn't seem much better (or maybe that isn't even relevant to what I'm describing.)

Suggestions? Not sure if I'm explaining it well.

My first guess is it's the controllers fault.
