Lol what?? Are you saying that certain GS codes don't work for 2.1? I'd like for you to elaborate on this lol.

I'm not much of a GS person as I prefer hacking the rom itself or using something like cheat engine.

No idea about 2.1. I have (or had, maybe) a GS code for SSB64 that didn't work with 1.7. The author or whoever the fuck he was said it only worked with 1.7 beta so I found a zip of it and it worked.

What GS code for SSB64? Sounds unusual that a GS code would work for 1 version of PJ64 and not another.

Hmm, lemme check. It's a very specific one.. I call it the "Super-powered B button".

E860A089 594F
E87C3509 5964
E87C9041 5964

It only works for Player 2 and only on Mushroom Kingdom. No other player and no other map. It was said it only works with PJ64 1.7 beta because it was made with that. I have tried and cannot get it to work on 1.6. Haven't tried 2.1 because when I found this, 2.1 wasn't around...

I have 1.7.0.50 ver. 23...

I think they adjusted the cheat format slightly in 1.7 in yet another attempt of creating artificial lock in on 1.7 beta for whatever the fuck reason (there seems to have been a lot of that in 1.7 ) and people that decided to use it created a lockin on 1.7. It might have had some technical benefits, but I'd have to dig up the old threads to find the actual reason

Doesn't matter to me much. 1.7 beta is uploaded all over the Internet so it's easily accessible. And legit, at least from where I got it.

It does not work for me on ver23 at all.
It happens to be an encrypted xplorer64 code.
I can't find any damn decryptor programs for it.
Gamehacking org has encrypted codes listed alongside the Gameshark codes.

LOL so that explains why I had no clue why that code looked so unusual.

It's better to just use regular codes...

It doesn't work for you at all? Ver23 is what I'm using and it works just fine. You have to make a hard reset after activating the cheat.

Oh, and I really meant it when I said you have to play as player 2 and it has to be on Mushroom Kingdom. Not player 1, not player 3, not player 4 and no other map than Mushroom Kingdom.

This video shows what it does (not my video)
