Default Controller Detection Issue

I have been trying to connect my Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to my PC to use it for Project 64, but it hasn't been working. I've tried to configure it but the program hasn't been picking up any inputs when I am pressing buttons. I have also tried multiple games to see if that made any difference and it hasn't. This might be an easy fix, but I'm not sure.

Are you connecting it through steam? That's the only way I know of unless you are using some drivers.

No I'm not i just have it plugged through the cable that came with it, unless nrage is a driver, which was one solution that didn't work when I was trying to fix it.

I just got it working only a little. The Analog stick works, but none of the buttons do. Also, when I try to configure anything, it automatically fills it in with Gamepad: Button 00 or some random button that doesn't work.
