Reinstalling Windows thanks to the malware now packed with PJ64. Awesome.

Yeah, it's really unacceptable they are doing this.
Some people even support the one responsible for all this, in the way they actually AGREE with giving people garbage like this, without them knowing. ![]() |

Actually, Chrome with default settings wouldn't even let me download it due to malware warnings.
Just search for "Project 64 Clean Download" and you'll find the non-malware version. BTW, I suspect that shifting the monetization model to (clean) freeware installer with a request for contributions with a clear call to action would potentially net more than what the dev is making right now (at the expense of his reputation). A number of people, myself included, would be happy to contribute. |

What's a donation system, and why has Project64 never tried one before?

You could've used AdwCleaner and no need to reinstall.
Or run the installer with parameter /noads Or just click cancel when it prompts you to install the bundled crap (it will not cancel the actual PJ64 install, just the adware). Quote:

It actually blocks by the site itself for .exe files since even the auto builds (which are standalone with folders) trigger Chrome's anti-malware.
One legit way to safely install it is to use Sandboxie combined with disconnecting your internet for added safety. I didn't realize how great that program is until a couple days ago. Why can't pepper flash use that kind of sandboxing while also not having crappy frame skips? |

Yeah, I got a malware warning when I tried to download PJ64 2.2 today. That shouldn't happen.
