Default Majora's Mask Save Files

Is there a problem with recording save files in Majora's Mask? I'm using Project 64 v2.3.2 on 64-bit Windows 10.

For some reason, I can't make a save file. If I use an owl statue to make a temporary save, it's not there. If I play the Song of Time to make a permanent save, it's not there. If I erase the .fla file and attempt either saving method, it does create a new .fla file, but file select screen doesn't show anything. I know the file path for the save files and save states is correct, but it's not showing up on the file select screen, either.

Thanks for your help.

I just tried it with Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time, which had no problem creating a save file. I think it's probably something to do with the unique nature of saving in Majora's Mask, though I don't know why. It seems like something happened that got the save states out of sync with the save files. In every other emulator I've used, loading a save state would overwrite the intended save files with whatever was there, at the time.

Sounds about right, I know you probably don't want to start over, but it would be a good thing to test.

Yeah, I restarted the file and haven't noticed any saving problems so far. I think part of the problem is that once you load a temporary save file, it automatically reverts back to the last permanent save you made on that slot. I've been very careful to watch anything I do that might alter save files, so hopefully this won't happen again.

Upon further review of my playthrough with PJ64 v1.6, it appears that I haven't had any issues with the save files, this time around. One thing that could have caused a problem was creating a temporary save file, loading it, and then reload a save state from before that happened. In v2.3.2, this would cause the save files to become out of sync with the save states, preventing me from creating a save file. However, in v1.6, I was still able to create a new save file, even after loading a save state, so I'm guessing it's an oddly specific quirk between the game and PJ64 together.
