Well, that looks a little better, but there's still a tiny bit of stuttering at the moment I mentioned.

ETA: And yes, the stuttering is present in all three Azimer audio plugins I've got in PJ64 at the moment (0.56 WIP 2, 0.70 NEW, and 0.70 WIP 6).

The stuttering might be caused by Advanced Block linking. Try disabling that and let us know if the issue persists .

Actually, it stays about the same.

tl;dr use the latest AziAudio, and all the games should sound better with that.

I don't know why keep mentions of 0.56 WIP 1 or 2 in the suggested plugins when the latest version should have the most testing.

I don't normally troll this hard since most people don't use comma punctuation as much as you do, so I felt like being OCD.

"Try disabling that" and "let us know if the issue persists" are both independent (a.k.a. main) clauses. They stand as complete English sentences on their own.

So when you have two main clauses in a complete English sentence, a comma should precede the conjunction (if a conjunction is chosen).
  1. Try disabling that, and let us know if the issue persists.
  2. Try disabling that; let us know if the issue persists.

OK, with ABL turned off, there's still quite a bit of stuttering when the Rare logo appears when using Azimer's Audio 0.70 NEW, and the stuttering does get toned down a bit, but doesn't completely disappear, when using Azimer's DS8 Audio 0.70 WIP 6.

I remember reporting to Azimer that (...was it either?) the DS8 or XA2 plugin stutters when using slower HLE graphics plugins rather than faster ones. Something about the CPU availability left on a core caused the DS8 version to not choke as much.

Be sure to test the XA2 version out as well as the DS8 version. Even if it's 60 VI/s it may still stutter if the maximum uncapped speed is only like less than 200 VI/s if I remember.

Koopa's reluctant to install the needed directx9 redist. Which is needed for XAudio 2.7 on Windows 8 and 10. XAudio 2.8, which is available on Windows 8 and 10, has dropped support for compressed audio, so many games don't work in the build I made for Win 8/10 XAudio 2.8.

With XAudio, selecting disable audiothread sleep, will cause the audio thread to use an entire core, resulting in smoother audio and video. Probably why I'm not getting any stutters with the Rare logo on Blast Corps. My laptop has poorer specs than Koopa's 1st laptop.

Actually, I'm doing all testing on my 2nd laptop, since it's tons more powerful than my first laptop.

UPDATE: I just now finally DL'd and installed the DirectX 9 redist, and it's still not doing anything for the XAudio2 options; for the regular driver, it simply hangs, and for the legacy driver, no sound plays at all.

Thanks for the English lesson . I will keep that in mind.

Hmm maybe it's the video plugin then. At some point, I suppose I can try testing that game .

Wait, so he has to downgrade to an older DirectX or something to get XAudio2 to work?

I don't know; I never used anything past Windows 7.

Leave it to RPG to diffuse my grammar trolling.

It's like the opposite of theboy. Criticize RPGMaster's grammar; he reads it and understands it.
Criticize Shunyuan's license-violating DirectInput plugin, and get my post deleted instead.
