Seriously Guys every time you do a stupid spam fest we get alerted and its frankly a waste of our time. Please respond to a thread to help not just to boost your post count or have a social.

thanks

okay I'm lost here. I thought spam was just linking to other sites to boost that site's popularity for no helpful reason to this forum?
Hey DSX, I think he's talking about that "new posts" thing.
Oooh it's sticky! ^_^ ...Which means that I really need to get this picture ~_~

Either no one, no one important, or themselves.

And to those who think this all a game with post count, I'm not tempted to stop. The only reason I started mass-posting across every thread is so I could practice thinking about questions people have about Project64 or just other stuff, so yes it is a conversational or social merit in the long run but originally was aimed to give mass-help with Project64 issues and learn from other posts. The only reason it comes out to be a spam fest in many threads is because natnatertatertot won't let go of most threads and transposes to social discussion.

Nah, it's not really spam. "Spam" was used to reference posting un-useful messages in a thread basically, at least to common perception that doesn't understand the link between two seemingly unrelated topics. Still I agree with Gent that it's kind of annoying if we do this outside the forum for open discussion.

LOL, I see what you mean now.
Yeah, alert = click New Posts + .

I think forum activity is being confused with the fact that, with the exception of this thread, most threads have questions that me and natnatertatertot are discussing, so actually we are making on-topic posts in them, with limited changes to their topics just after they've been answered. Now if you really want to take this little issue seriously like we're whoring around for post count, there's the modcp...no point in withstanding a situation you have an improper understanding of when you can just start perma-banning your most responsive, helpful members on the forum. Then you'll have a peaceful forum with no more "spamming" that you don't even have to log on to moderate.

And to complement that, there won't be any need to log on to a forum I'm being misjudged on if my account is banned anyway.

Yeah I know what you mean about those tripads

I can't help it, it's how I tick! If I don't respond to someone talking to me, It'll drive me nuts! I'm sure you can see how this is a problem when someone says "I get the last word".

Well that's the thing. In a way we're competing, in the sense that the chance for experience is lost by saying nothing, but in another way we're avoiding hurting the adversary's feelings or whatever. Moderation I'm sure doesn't care either way whether we do any posting at all on the other hand, as long as they get their own fun chats in with Jabo and zilmar.

Anyway, I guess this whole thing about there being spam was squall's judgement, so I'm just making sure his opinion of us is being executed to the full.

I'm amazed you believe that.
Every time I check the forums 60-80% of the time it's mainly spam and posts that have not been completely thought out.

Example
http://forum.pj64-emu.com/showthread.php?t=1572
Posts 12 and 13.

Example
http://forum.pj64-emu.com/showthread.php?t=2113
This thread should've died at post 3 but the OP came back and made a comment.
I personally consider posts 25 and on purely unnecessary, the ones before it are tolerable since they do mention things about back flipping, what the OP's comment was about.

Example
http://forum.pj64-emu.com/showthread.php?t=2112
Posts 4 to 11

The sad thing is these posts outweigh the actual help that's being offered.
I've considered massive pruning to clear out the spam and may do it one day but it wouldn't help for long, this community just doesn't seem to understand, care, or know how to make constructive posts.

I understand that most of what I say does, in fact, contain much irrelevancy. I've been trying to keep it to open discussion. A big reason on why I keep these things going is because I can't seem to not respond to people when they're talking to me, and I don't know why that is, but it does raise some issues sometimes.
