Question Program to visually show controller analog stick input?

I have bought a USB-based third-party Nintendo 64 controller and I feel it may only have eight directions digitally on the analog stick, with no force stepping (which allows a character to walk instead of run, for example).

Is there a way I can test this?

I think the TAS input plugin might do what you're asking for. I believe it comes with mupen64-rr .

I downloaded Mupen64 v8 installer.zip which gave me mupen64-rerecording-v8-installer.exe, which in turn gave me Mupen 64 v0.5.

It appears to come with:
  • Adaptoid Plugin v1.0
  • Jacob's DirectInput 1.6
  • N-Rage's Direct-Input8 1.60
  • N-Rage's Direct-Input8 V2 1.80a
I also manually downloaded TAS Input Plugin 0.6.

I can't see to find anything in either of them that allow me to visually see the analogue stick's raw input

I've also tried mupen64plus-GLideN64-win64.zip (build date November 20, 2018) and I don't believe this offers it, either.

I am also interested on this, sometimes I press a couple of buttons but the game seems not recognize those buttons or recognize other buttons that I have not pressed instead, there are times it seems to ignore buttons at all. I want to see visually on the screen the buttons I'm pressing.

Tas input does display button inputs, but the analog input display might be bugged . At least keyboard input is bugged. Maybe I could try fixing the plugin next week .

When running a game with the Tas input plugin, it will display the inputs.

You're right, TAS Input Plugin 0.6 does indeed show a box during gameplay.

When I push the analog stick a little in any direction, it goes all the way in that direction. 0 or 1, basically.

Can someone else test this for me with their controller, please?
