Please don't "TL;DR" the instruction manual.

"TL;DR" is short for "too long; didn't read". He means you should read the instruction manual.
The help feature, the gameFAQ and searching the forum can give you answers, always check those first.
In this case, try pressing F4 to slow down your game.

Could also be drug-related.

Safest way to limit the speed though is indeed to use F4. This doesn't work if advanced settings were set back to hidden in the options.

(TBH I was always wondering what "tl;dr" meant, since a tater tot kept telling me that in several threads. )

Lol, I first saw it when some JCR emails came with a "Tl;Dr" version at the top. I was baffled for weeks until I realised what it was

@ OP: the part of the manual you want is at
Help>User manual>Using project64>Keyboard shortcuts

To be fair that's the first time I've ever seen that part of the manual too. I learnt about the speed limiter from the forum.

Hey well whad'dya know! I'll be sure to have a random peek at that portion of the manual myself.

Heh, pretty much learned everything experimentally. In Smiff's honest words from the old forum,

heh, don't believe everything you read in the manual.. it's mostly aimed at beginners, and generalises a lot.
