Cant record gameplay with NVidia Shadow Play

Yes my PC can use Shadow play, a gtx 770 is able to record games, ive done so before.
but i cannot figure out how to get it to work with emulators such as project 64, ive seen youtubers recording SNES emulation with shadowplay.

Is there any way to force ShadowPlay to record for Project 64?

Have to enable Desktop mode for it to work
