Ah, that explains some more on that. I wished ben had linked to that article instead of just the picture of the whale.

Still doesn't sound all that unique to me I guess. Essentially anything that uses source point coordinates for coverage slopes "vectorizes" graphics in upscaling. Like a line slope with sqrt(2) would have 1/2 coverage of the pixel...I wonder if they factored source alpha calculations of that sort in then their result of that pixilated whale example image would use less dull, flat lines and more curvy, quadratic lines. (Whale curves should be round; their result looks flat-ish.)

Whale, shark, octopus, squid... I give up.

If Nintendo says it's an alligator, it's an alligator.

It's a dolphin.
Maybe you didn't recognize it cause you seem to disagree with Dolphin's philosophy

Hey, if Nintendo would rather call it a squid, let them call it a squid.

Speaking of dolphins:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dolphin

I hate that program. Dolphin always seems to screw up when I need to cut and paste something between 2 different directories while navigating between them in the same window. I always prefer Thunar over Dolphin between the file manager options that Slackware comes with.
