Can't load a save state in Pokemon Stadium?

hey guys. Everytime I play Pokemon Stadium and want to save my progress using F5 (the save state option) and want to load said save with F7, I get to a screen saying: "The Transfer pak is not set correctly. Blablabla"

The thing is: I'm not even messing with any damn transfer paks. I just want to load my damn save. Why won't it work?
