I love using the Xbox 360 controller but there is one fatal flaw that is pretty much unforgivable. Windows only recognizes the 360 controller when its turned on. Therefore everytime I quit PJ64 & my controller turns off, I have to configure the controller input all over again. This gets frustrating, especially if you want to play with 4 players.
The best controller I've used with pj64 was this one: amazon.com/Elements-Wireless-PC-Control-Windows-Operating/dp/B000JR8TWA ...because not only was it wireless, but when you plugged in the usb receiver, Windows always recognized it as 'plugged in', so you didnt have to reconfigure the controller input everytime you wanted to play (as you do with the 360 controller). Any advice on driver support for the 360 or better controllers that dont have this issue? |

Well, the best controller for an n64 emulator is of course an actual n64 controller with USB adapter. How ever if you can't get one of those. The Logitech Dual action is the next best choice. They have great springs and square shaped grooves so you can aim all the way to the edge of the gear box inside giving that true analog feel. Unlike those rubbish 360 controllers that have bad springs and short range.
I'm the expert on controllers here; at least I like to think I am ![]() |

The Logitech cordless rumble pad 2. Is what I recommend.

well in the way of wireless, if the development team adds the wiimotelib plugin, the wiimote could be used and you don't have to resync the remote to the wii every time you want to use it, the plugin also supports the classic the controller.
