The same kind of lag happens when I change Dolphin Emu's resolution to 3x Native, despite it already lagging for me on 1x Native, but it looks prettier on 3x.
Exactly. All one as to do to polyogns is raise the internal resolution of the console itself to reduce jaggies methinks. That is how Dolphin works. Their texture scaling method is the Bicubic filter.

Clearly you're no longer talking about 4K monitors from an accuracy perspective in emulation, because what you said proves you'd rather hijack the hardware to output abnormal hi-res for emulation sake. But from an accuracy perspective, 4K would only make it worse, not better.

Also, way to go back a full page in time to reply to a post from weeks ago, just to sustain some bullshit argument.

I apriciate you guys discussing but I would just like to know if this would be possible, becasue playing n64 games in full hd on a 27" monitor has been an amazing experience, so i imagine playing on a even bigger monitor with ultra hd graphics would be even better, especially if i can get a ps3 controller to work with pj64

Yes it would work, they are talking about the accuracy from an n64 image perspective which you will loose by going to such arbitrarily big resolutions but for all you care it doesn't matter. The graphic plugins can scale to whatever resolution you want

That's nice, I'm going to order one of these monitors then, I imagine the graphics will be improved a lot running in Ultra HD?

Yes. It will be improved a lot.

Just imagine a bitmap of a fat naked ass, stamped onto a 3-D cube via texturing. Then imagine stretching that fat naked ass to 65536x65536 instead of 320x240. That's how much higher-res and awesome the 4K monitor will make N64 look.

yeah the only thing that will look smooth are edges of polygons, but the textures will look cancerous

To you, there are people that are perfectly fine and find it more appealing scaled to such a resolution
