Arrow Transferring all save data

Hey guys..

I just got a new laptop (DELL Vostro 3500 in case anybody was wondering ) for which I plan to re-install Project 64 on .. I have all my memory paks and save states on my old laptop.. Just wondering whether or not you guys had anything to say or suggest in regards to transferring all that memory over to my new laptop so that I can continue from where I was.. Thanks

All save states and memory pak data (for Jabo's DInput) should be under the "Save" subdirectory where you had Project64 installed on your old laptop, so if you copy that over it should transfer everything to do with save data.

Yeah other config like plugins you're using or emulator options shouldn't affect the save data, so basically if you copy your entire Save folder over to your new installation you should have everything set and can change whatever later.

I just looked at my Project 64 folder under Program Files and I couldn't find any "save" folder.. I only have "Docs" "Lang" and "Plugin".. Am I looking in the wrong direction??

And out of curiosity.. Would copying over the Save folder, if I can actually find it, transfer my mpk's? Or would I have to go into the folder where I stored my rom's?

No the MPKs are all stored under $Project64\Save.

If you're using Vista or Windows 7 there is probably the virtual directory re-mapping in effect.

try something like
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Project 64\Saves\....

I was able to locate the file in that location, but when I transferred to my other laptop, I was unable to figure out how to get project64 to recognize the save state. I went to the same location as where I found it on my other laptop and placed it there, but it's still not working...where should it be saved?

If you're not running an administrator account on your laptop, or if your laptop doesn't have Windows Vista or Windows 7, it should just go under the regular "Save" sub-directory under where Project64 is installed.

Also if you're transferring between Project64 1.6 and Project64 1.7 or vice versa the save files need to be renamed.
