Default Fullscreen issues HDMI to TV

All my games run fine after upgrading from Windows 7 to 10, but now I'm not able to go fullscreen on a TV when I hook up my laptop via HDMI. Normal fullscreen on the laptop itself works fine. But if I'm trying to play smash bros on a big screen with 4 xbox controllers programmed in, the signal isn't found by the TV. Anyone else getting this?

If you're doing dual displays make the TV the primary. There's a checkbox in the screen res box.
