I've recently been playing with texture replacements and I think it's awesome how beautiful old games can look when emulated. Majora's Mask with some high resolution textures, widescreen hack, 1080p, and antialiasing looks awesome.
Objects in the game are freed from memory (vanishing from the screen) after you are a certain distance away from them. But this distance is small enough to get confusing sometimes and the gameplay would benefit from it being increased now that modern systems can handle it. I don't have a great understanding of memory or how game cheats work, but I'm curious to know if something like this can be done by creating a cheat rather than modify the ROM itself. I think it would be cool to optimize games for modern systems in this way. |

But deh n64 doesn't have enough memory!!1! (you computer memory has nothing to do with it), also when you say "widescreen hack" do you mean just forcing 16:9?

So the emulator can only use as much memory as the N64 can, and there's no way to expand this without hacking the ROM? |
